Linyanti and Okavango Delta - 7 days
Day 1 - 4 Dumatau Camp
Fly from Maun Airport to DumaTau camp in the Linyanti Concession. On arrival staff will meet you off your aircraft and transfer you the short distance to the camp.
‘DumaTau’ means ‘roar of the lion,’ but it is likely to be the elephants which make the greatest impression here. Its location in the Linyanti and on the banks of Osprey Lagoon position it squarely at the epicentre of Botswana’s elephant herds that are dotted across the northern regions. Other wildlife abounds, and there is a great variety of species to be seen in the contrasting habitats.
Eight twin guest tents and two family tents have views over the lagoon, and the floating sundowner deck symbolises the light footprint of a camp run solely on solar power.
INSIDER'S TIP: The Linyanti is recognised as an IBA (Important Bird Area), so the hides and platforms in the area are ideal for bird watching and photographing wildlife.
Day 4 - 8 Qorokwe Camp (Okavango Delta)
Fly from Dumatau to Qorokwe in the morning.
The name Qorokwe means “the place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water" and is evocative of the high-density game area in which the camp is situated. The diverse habitats of the south-eastern Okavango reveal support a wealth of wildlife, earning the area’s well-deserved reputation as a top Botswana safari destination.
Qorokwe Camp has nine tented suites, one of which is a spacious family suite with its own splash pool. En-suite facilities feature a convertible indoor/outdoor shower. Built on raised wooden platforms, the main area includes a dining area, lounge, library, bar and an infinity pool overlooking an expansive lagoon. Highlights of Qorokwe’s dining experiences include festive boma evenings and scrumptious pizzas from the camp’s bespoke oven.
INSIDER'S TIP: Keep a look out for the secretive white rhino which have been reintroduced into this area.
