Overlooking a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta, Kwara offers the ultimate Delta experience. Its location allows access to the permanent waterways of the Delta as well as expansive dry land areas, admired for their quality game viewing. The camp offers mokoro trips, as well as fishing, boat trips are on a double-decker boat that visits the Godikwe Lagoon in the waters of the Moremi Game Reserve, which is known for the abundant varieties of birdlife especially during nesting season.
Duba Plains sits in the heart of the Okavango Delta. A recent guest said it all, “I now understand that the Garden of Eden can be found at Duba Plains.” The 77,000 acre private reserve is typical of the region’s unique landscape. Duba Plains offers 5 bespoke tents, in addition to a separate 2 bedroom suite aptly named the Duba Plains Suite, all designed by Dereck Joubert to blend into the forest and to take advantage of the shapes and textures of the shade but also to evoke the old classic African safari style of the 1920’s.
Nxai Pans Camp
The superb Nxai Pan Camp is ideally tucked away in the breathtaking Nxai Pan National Park, located on the banks of an expansive dry lake and famous for the awe-inspiring Baines Baobabs that surround the area. Here, amidst pristine grasslands dotted with acacia trees, guests can unwind in one of the “Desert Rooms” or in a larger family room.
Lebala means 'wide open spaces', and the camp is located in the Kwando Reserve’s 573,000 acres of private unfenced wilderness. The wonderful variety of wildlife includes elephant, hippo, buffalo and the ever present lion, cheetah and hyena. Lebala’s location away from the dense mopane woodland to the east of the Reserve facilitates the ease of traversing the concession looking for big game.
Surrounded by the vast and pristine landscapes of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, this spectacular retreat offers roomy and stylish canvas tents,— each with a lovely ensuite bathroom with an alfresco shower and a private veranda. Comfortable sitting room, African-themed library and gorgeous dining area overlooks the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Kalahari. Adventures on offer are morning walks and game drives, quad biking to the Makgadikgadi Pan, a relic of one of the world’s largest super lakes, and interactions with authentic Bushmen.
Lagoon is perched on the banks of the wild Kwando River, nestled beneath towering ebony and marula trees. The heavily forested site is home to a wide variety of birds and mammals, while elephant and hippo are normally visible from the camp. The views & proximity of wildlife all contributes to the pervading sense of calm at Lagoon Camp.
Once a rustic campsite for Scandinavian royalty, King’s Pool overlooks the handsome oxbow lagoon of the same name in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park. This 100% solar-powered camp has nine luxurious tents each with a private plunge pool and thatched sala. The river hosts numerous species of birds and is a magnet for game in the dry winter months.
Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate, classic camp located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon, which simply teems with animal and birdlife. The camps unique main area comprises a multi-tiered dining room and lounge which is set under canvas under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees. Shinde can offer both water and land activities year round. Motorboats or mokoro provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta.
DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion,’ is located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The area is famed for large herds of elephants and exceptional game viewing along the Savute Channel. Ten guest tents are raised off the ground to take advantage of the dramatic views of Osprey Lagoon.
Savuti Camp is situated in the private Linyanti Concession along the Savute Channel, famous as a sporadic and unusual watercourse. This intimate camp's en-suite accommodation is in seven large, raised tents. From the camp's thatched dining area, elevated wooden decks extend out over the channel bed, with a small pool, fire pit and wonderful views along and across the channels of the Okavango.
